Stand Up & Amen...

What to get someone who thinks they have (or know) everything...

The "Sarah Palin Bedpan of Suburban Psychosis via the Holy Trinity of Oprah, Ellen and Katie Couric".

Inscription reads: "Listening to failed vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is like trying to decipher what the president of your kid's school PTO would sound like if she ate goofballs and snorted cocaine in-between sessions of getting gang banged by rival Mexicans on the foot of an altar dedicated to Lawrence Welk."

Nicholas Simmons - Watercolorist

Saw this beautiful work on MPT... planning to take a basic watercolor course this fall.

ArtWorks GuestThe joy of Nicholas Simmons' watercolor is in the burst of color and immense energy, which are clearly representative of their artist. Mr. Simmons' first career was music, but he painted commissions in his spare time. When the painting became more time-consuming than music, he decided to paint full time and see what happened. A wise decision as he receives subtantial recognition for his work. Gallery RoCa is his Maryland representative, where his work is always available to view. Gallery RoCa is located at 220 N. Washington in Havre de Grace. For more information, call 410-939-6182.

Favorites from Artscape Baltimore

Hit the Artscape event in Balt. on Sunday.

It's really more of a large open air flea market and food court than an "artscape". Maybe they should re-think the name. Not that there wasn't original and interesting work to be seen - but it was few and it was far between. And it was damn hot that day.

Some of my favorites:

> Queen of Sheba Trading Company

Her ideas of "Jewelry for Lunch" and her LiAni (TM) Shawls were fantastic as was her personality.

> Squidfire
Great t-shirt designs - this is a weak spot for me. I have quite of few of these folks designs that I've purchased over the last 2 - 3 years. Below - I found some other designers that had great stuff.
Mantis

> Sharp Shirter

T-shirt and laptop skin designs.
